Route
The route goes from the Liberal Gomorrah of Berkeley, CA, to where Earthquakes and Cowboys reign supreme, to a lake bed were hot rods break the sound barrier, to a sea of toxic beauty, Finally landing at the Border. Terrain is purposely varied for vehicle challenge as well as contestant pleasure.
The route is in four legs, run over four days, with overnight camping at each stop. There will be two check points each day for racer check-ins and to enjoy the wonderful curiosities along the way. Each leg is about 200 miles.
Day 1: Berkeley, CA to Parkfield, CA (A -> B)
Day 2: Parkfield, CA to El Mirage Dry Lake, CA (B -> C)
Day 3: El Mirage Dry Lake, CA to Salton Sea, CA (C -> D)
Day 4: Salton Sea, CA to the Mexico Border (D -> E)
Prior to the start of the rally contestants will be given complete instruction packets directing them to each checkpoint and campsite.
